Now, after quite a bit of research, we have decided not to go via Bilbao. It was going to cost £700+ for the two ferry trips, plus all the extras on board. So I have changed the name of the Blog and now it is down to Dover, across to Calais and drive to somewhere around Beaune for the first night. Continue on to Avignon and, after watching Michael Portillo's Train Journey through France, Arles is on our itinerary.
